Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between teachers job satisfaction and students academic achievement at technical colleges in North Western Nigeria. Two purposes with two corresponding research questions guided the study. One hypothesis was postulated and tested at 0. 05 level of significance. The study employed survey and correlational research designs. Two sets of data, primary and secondary, were collected and correlated Researchers designed structured questionnaire that had 35 items was used to collect the primary data which was the sampled opinion of 56 Mechanical teachers on intrinsic job satisfaction factors. The reliability coefficient of 0.78 of the validated questionnaire was determined through Cronbach Alpha formula. A profoma was used to collect secondary data, which was the Mechanical engineering craft practice National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB) exams results of five years 2011 to 2015 academic sessions collected from each technical college visited Frequency counts, means and standard deviations were employed to answer the research questions, while Pearsons Product Moment Correlation was used to test the hypothesis. The findings showed among others that, there is no significant relationship between Mechanical Engineering Craft Practice (MECP) teachers Job satisfaction and student academic achievement and that, the predetermined intrinsic factors are important sources of job satisfaction of MECP teachers, One of the recommendations made is that: Commissioners, Directors, Supervisors, principals and society in general should ensure that both intrinsic factors of job satisfaction are well provided so that teachers job satisfaction would be high for effective teaching and thus enhance students high academic achievement.

Abstract
The study investigated the relationship between students’ cognitive styles and senior secondary school students’ academic achievement in Biology in Gombe State, Nigeria. Two null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted correlational research design. The population of study consisted of 28,569 SSS III students’ spread across the 184 senior secondary schools in three education zones across the 11 local government areas ofGombe state, Nigeria. Four hundred students offering Biology were drawn from this population using the multistage sampling technique at four levels. Experts in Biology Education validated the instruments. The Cronbach alpha statistic, reliability coefficients of 0.82 and 0.69 were obtained for theFDCS and FICS while 0.67 of Biology Achievement Test was also obtained through Kuder Richardson formula 21. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson product moment correlation coefficient. The result found strong and positive statistically significant relationship between students’ cognitive styles and senior secondary school’s academic achievement in Biology. It was recommended that Educational stakeholders should increase the students’ awareness on how to handle field dependent in term of good enabling environment. Also Seminar and workshop should be organized and made compulsory for Biology teachers and should draw attention of students on individual differences and uniqueness especially from psychological point of view.

Abstract
This study investigated the relevance of basic electricity to the survival of small and medium scale business enterprises in Edo state, Nigeria. To achieve the purpose of the study, three research questions were raised and one hypothesis was formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study used the descriptive survey research design. The sample which was the entire population of the study was 120 small and medium scale business enterprises owners taken from the three geo-political zones in Edo state. A four-point rating scale questionnaire titled Relevance of Basic Electricity to Small and Medium Scale Business Enterprise Questionnaire (RBESMSBEQ) was the instrument used to collect data from the respondents. The validity of the instrument was ascertained by three lecturers in the Department of Vocational and Technical Education and one lecturer in The Department of Evaluation and Measurement, Faculty of Education, University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. The split half technique was employed to determine the reliability of the instrument. Two sets of scores were correlated using Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient (PPMC) and the process yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.72 which showed that the instrument was reliable. Research question 1 was answered with simple percentage while mean ( ) and standard deviation (SD) were used to answer research question 2 and 3. The hypothesis testing was done at 0.05 level of significance with chi-square.
The findings revealed that owners of small and medium scale business enterprises are much aware of the relevance of basic electricity to the survival of small and medium scale business enterprises. Owners of small and medium scale business enterprises are moderately familiar with basic electricity as it relates to daily business operations, and the extent to which the owners of small and medium scale business enterprises have acquired basic electricity skills relevant to daily business operations was found to be low. The hypothesis test revealed that the perception between male and female owners of small and medium scale business enterprises of the relevance of basic electricity to the survival of small and medium scale enterprises vary with no significant difference. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that business owners should acquire basic electricity skills to enable them carry out electrical maintenance of their business facilities for maximizing profit.
